I think this is, in general, something that all three chapters of GW have highlighted - little pockets of human thriving in a world that isn't very kind. But when you compare the three, Prophecies where you have one last major outpost of civilization in Lion's Arch and a kind of broken culture, Factions where you are bogged down in the muck of Kaineng City or else in a fantastical outland, and Nightfall, where the desert reaches everywhere and civilization still manages to overcome...I think that Nightfall is actually, in terms of man-against-nature and progress-of-cilvilization, the major success story.
But Primeval armor isn't part of that African theme. It's armor made by the Forgotten, and it does have the same crude / scavenged / made out of monster parts style as many types of Ranger armor and Luxon armor. Personally, I like Primeval Warrior, Ranger, Monk and Necromancer armor, as well as Ancient Warrior, Ranger, Monk, Necromancer and Assassin armor, as well as male Ancient Elementalist armor. I like the actual outfit of Ancient Ritualist armor, but the tattoos / body paint are horrible. I really dislike Paragon armor, every set is mostly white and looks like a cheerleader outfit, and Dervish armor is only slightly better. One thing that really disappoints me about Nightfall armor is that Morgahn and Varseh's outfits are far better looking than the Paragon and Dervish armor available to players.

I do not agree on this (but then these are just opinions )
The vabbian suit make s u look like sinbad the sailor, while monk ancioent lloks actually like a suit that could give u some protection like padded armor and such. I bought this one over the vabian one, as it is less common then vabbian and has a sturdy look. The dyeable area is ok too except for the pants.

IMO i think the Ele Primevil armor looks like a bunch of sticks, white carbourd, paper and some sticky tape to hold it together in a decent way. + a splash of dye.

I donot care about spiky armor, I actually have a couple of them for different characters.
The thing that bugged me when NF came out, is that Necro armor just sucks especially for males.

There have been no decent (male) ranger armours since prophecies. Which is probably a good thing as I wouldnt have the money to buy all of them.

I dont think it looks like a cheerleader outfit....I think mighty Ceasar would smack you

The Paragon is wearing a very typical greco-roman "muscle" breastplate. And sadly ALL the Paragon armors look like that.

Thats the real problem. ITS ALL WHITE. I would have loved some variety...if its not dyeable, at least some gold, bronze, silver, black as main colors on the 15k versions.... come on!

The things that make it "cool" are the detailing and its really hard to make it out. -.-

Dont get me started on the fact that we dont wear helmets.....Wheres my spartan helmet?!

At least Dervishes get variety in color and pattern and the spinning spiky bits are very distinct.

My favorite ancient armor is the female Ele set. One of the few that looks classy.

The Primeval Warrior IMHO is the best looking warrior set aside from clipping issues.

I'd absolutely love the ranger ancient armor...

...if it weren't for the dead insects clinging to it - eww.

Wow, I totally disagree. The ele one is bland, but those are the best 15k armor I've seen. Some of those would actually be worth the time to farm for.

I love the Ancient Necro armour and the Mesmer end-game armour. Though I will agree a lot of Nightfall armour is horrible, not all of it is. On the whole Necro armour was nice (minus the end-game armour which I personally did not like).

Completely agree with you there, I want my spartan helmet too! xD (specially after seeing 300 other day haha)

but seriously, an ele style third eye? Bah!

More on topic though, I'm not keen on most of the primeval/ancient armours, only one I'll really be getting is ritualist and maybe mesmer.

Push your opinion much? The armors are fine, each to their own. Useless thread... good lord... because these don't pop up everyday on guru... /nuke.

Sorry, every set of female paragon armor looks like a cheerleader outfit. The male Elonian and Vabbian sets have a cool greco-roman vibe to them, but none of the other male sets (and none of the female sets) have full-sized chest armor.

I have found personally over time the NF armor has grown on me. I even prefer some of the armor from NF over other stuff. I will admit at the start I pretty much dislike all of it. lol. But now I'm hoping to get some new NF outfits.

I think where NF appeals to such a wider range of preference is why many people are having such varied responces. IMO I think its great to offer variety, even if I think some of it is really ugly. At least I will get a chuckle when I see someone in game wearing it.
